AS FLOWER OF GRASS

A while ago the pop star Katy Perry and five other women claimed to "go to space". This mission caused a great uproar on social media.

I am not interested in discussing if this so-called space mission was fake or staged, but in looking at the symbolism of the ritual, in regards to Biblical symbology, and what this ritual signifies.

For those involved it was probably about the promotion of humanistic and esoteric doctrines, but the truth shone right through for me, especially seeing Katy Perry with that fragile little "flower of grass".  It just emphasised to me the  total and utter lack with which man comes to the table:  his lack of understanding about just how fragile he is, his foolishness as seen from the viewpoint  of God, and ultimately the inevitability of mankind's fall  and utter ruin when he turns to his own way and does not repent and believe the gospel.

To me that was all symbolized by the tiny flower this "star" clutched: the simple daisy which brought to my mind Peter's words which emphasise the futility of man's efforts at making war with the Word of God, which stands forever :

1 Peter 1:24-25 King James Version (KJV) For All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

The whole rocket spectacle is symbolically understood indicating man's attempt at ascending to heaven by himself and has - as expected - failed miserably and has become an embarassing spectacle and laughing stock infront of the entire world.

Their attempt to ascend high enough to achieve "weightlessness" signifies  SYMBOLICALLY man's attempt to  pass the "test" of being righteous through their own fleshly works  (indicated by the test of the feather).  The whole humanistic effort of man was always doomed.

This is symbolized by the ascent and descent of the rocket, marked with a large black feather.

To me the feather symbolizes man's  attempt to create a system to rule and  judge himself. It probably refers to the feather of the Egyptian goddess Maat, though at it surface level it has to do with reaching weightlessness by going to "space".

You can read about Egypt's belief in the process of judgement here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maat

But ultimately this is about not only ancient Egypt's rebellion toward God and their attempt to judge themselves, but likewise modern man who has created a system called humanism, in which man does according to what he deems right.   This is of course nothing new.

In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.(Judges 21:25)

FLOWER OF GRASS VERSUS THE SOLID ROCK:

The ascent was inevitably followed by descent, the fall back to earth, and then mockery by all.  Men choose  to JUDGE THEMSELVES using their own unjust scales and they are  STILL found wanting, for man cannot reach the heavens no matter how hard he tries, even using HIS OWN scales. It is at best a fleeting moment of ecstasy of reaching the top, only to be followed by the inevitable fall. All he can do is hope for a soft landing.

 They have JUDGED THEMSELVES UNWORTHY.

God did not judge them. They chose cisterns with holes that could not hold water and prided themselves in saying "Who am I to judge?" Yet they spent their days in 24/7 condemnation and judgement of the just. They refused the PERFECT VESSEL - THE WORD OF GOD- that can help man judge righteous judgement despite his own unworthiness. They took pride in false humility and the worship of men and the "stars"

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. (Jer 2:13)

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and JUDGE YOURSELVES UNWORTHY of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

(Acts 13:46

and

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I JUDGE HIM NOT : for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM in the last day.

 (John 12:46-48)

The writing is on the wall : Numbered, finished, weighed, found wanting, divided, given over....

Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

AS FLOWER OF GRASS:

The humble flower of grass reminds us that man's days on earth are short and fleeting, and we ought to rather humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, and LIVE

"...and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." (1 Pet 5b-7)

For all mankind  the writing is on the wall.  His flesh is judged already and will wither and  fall away, but if he should repent and believe the gospel, he will live.

1 Peter 1:24-25  For All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
